He is Cirus's most-senior journeyman. He's been with Cirus for over 10 years, preferring to stay with the old pedlar than either start his own business or join another master merchant. This is the butt of many jokes told around him

Artivus is tall (6'3"), of average build (187lbs) and frame. He is of fair complexion with short and curly red hair and green eyes. He has an honest disposition that belies his unscrupulous morality. He is an avid worshipper of Halea and has dreams of richness. A quiet man, he smiles a lot, relying on his boyish charm to make good first impressions. Artivus was born on the streets of Coranan and spent his early years as a recruit for the lia-kavir. Cirus changed all that by formally adopting the boy and teaching him a more "honest" trade.

Artivus knows everyone in Cirus's caravan, and likes to believe he also knows all the gossip and details of their backgrounds (he does not). He is especially impressed by full-time legionnaires and will do almost anything to have them respect him. Cirus has paid scuttage, so Artivus has not served in the legion, even though he wanted to. He will be horrified when he learns of the deaths within the caravan, and adamantly believes Master Cirus should go to the legion for help. Artivus knows his own limitations well, and may plot revenge on whoever put his master in this predicament, but he will not act on these plots without funding and aide.
