Short Adventures

May 24, 2008

These three short adventures are all designed for a single evening of play, or for use in one slot at a convention. They all make use of other resources found on Lythia.com for location information or pre-generated characters, or they can be easily adapted into any ongoing campaign.

The Wool Merchant

May 24, 2008

A generic townhouse that can be used in any medieval setting. The townhouse could be set in any urban location and could be any business type, although it’s written as being in Golotha and belonging to a wool merchant. Simply change the piece to suit your needs. With maps by Patrick Nilsson and artwork by Richard Luschek, as usual.

Azadmere: An Expansion

May 24, 2008

This is a one page PDF showing a map of Azadmere…part of Azadmere that the official maps don’t cover. Check pg8, top map, in the Azadmere Kingdom module. That map is described as “Supplemental GM Map, General Layout: Second (+60′) Level – Inner City”. This Azadmere Expansion map appears to flesh out the southern-most part of the Inner City, where the eastern end of Hazmadul Way meets the cliff wall. This map is being provided by Rob de Bruijn, and without the knowledge or permission of James Currie (the apparent original cartographer).

Erone Abbey

May 24, 2008

One of only two Peonian Abbeys in Kaldor, Erone Abbey is home to a famous hospital and a hot springs rumoured to have healing properties. It is located on the Genin Trail, just a short ride south of Tashal. This 14 page article includes a history of the abbey, player and GM maps of the manor, brief description of the associated village, four interior scale maps of the abbey and a full page of adventure hooks. The zip file also includes a large 11″ x 14″ map of the entire abbey for easy handout to players.

Printing Posts

May 18, 2008

In an effort to make up for my laziness in restoring all the Hârn files for download, I’ve found a plug-in for Lýthia.com that you might find handy. You can now print posts from the blog portion of the site. Simply click the little printer symbol at the bottom of the post, and you will be able to see a specially formatted version of the post, and all the comments, that will be suitable to print.

Now, if you find a particular post (and its comments) interesting and you’d like to keep a hard copy with the rest of your Hârn material, you can do so. It’s not going to be the same quality as the fan modules of course, but it will suffice, I think.

Try it now with Ken’s excellent post on Tahnaryn: The Black Magic of Kethira.

Chewintin

May 18, 2008

Located in the far south-western corner of the Kingdom of Kaldor, Chewintin Manor is ruled by a bailiff for the Earl of Balim, the powerful Troda Dariune. Isolated and badly ruled, the current bailiff is busy making Chewintin safe from Kath raids across the Kald River. Another wonderfully mapped and illustrated fan-work.

Nebulan Chapterhouse

May 18, 2008

The large chapterhouse at Nebulan is the centre of operations in Pagostra (southern Kaldor) for the Laranian martial order, The Lady of Paladins (qv). An ongoing campaign against the Pagaelin makes this the most active Sword Chapter in the Kaldoric branch of the Order. The chapter has close ties with the Baron of Kobing, and supports the establishment of a keep at Oselbridge. Most of the knights housed here trained at the order’s headquarters, Whyce Chapterhouse (qv).

With the usual wonderful maps by Thomas Shook, and a fantastic colour illustration by Richard Luschek, this HârnWriters Guild module is 12 pages of outstanding source material.

Naniom Bridge

May 18, 2008

Naniom Bridge is an ancient span over the Nephen River, built by the Khuzdul during the Codominium era. Since then, it has withstood the test of time and warring civilizations to fulfill its immemorial mission: to carry trade from the Silver Way unto the heart of Azadmere. Located on the northern frontier of the kingdom of Kaldor, the Bridge and its small mercantile community now stand at the crossroads of history once again, as different factions vie to assert control over this strategic link.

Whyce Chapterhouse

May 18, 2008

The spread of Laranianism throughout the Kingdom of Kaldor has seen it grow rich in lands. The Laranian clerical order, The Spear of Shattered Sorrow, granted Whyce Manor to its martial order, The Lady of Paladins (qv), in 593TR. As the first, and now most senior Chapterhouse of the fighting order, Whyce has become the de-facto headquarters of the order, and has become the training centre for the entire kingdom. Grown from an initial ten knights, Whyce now houses 173 souls. Many of the knights trained here end up at Nebulan Chapterhouse (qv), where there is an ongoing campaign against the tribes of the Pagaelin.

Another fabulous example of fan-developed work, this is mapped and illustrated in the finest tradition.

The Lady of Paladins

May 18, 2008

This is a wonderful companion piece to Whyce Chapterhouse (qv) and Nebulan Chapterhouse (qv), as it describes the Laranian fighting order, The Lady of Paladins; its history, saints, and relationships with other orders within the Hârnic Church of Larani. It also discusses the current Solori Crusade, and its probably role in any crisis over the succession to the Kaldoric Crown. It also covers the daily routine of members of the order, location of its major chapterhouses, and the ranks of the Order. Included is a set of illustrations of rank badges for the order.
