Murelno

June 5, 2009

Part 1 of 2 in the series Mineous

Murelno is one of only a few settlements on the eastern bank of the Eryn, Kanday’s principal river and a major traffic artery. As such, it is an outpost on the border of Kandian civilization and the manorial seat of Lord Murel, the Warden of Mineous Forest, who maintains close relations to the fierce Gozyda “barbarians”, populating the wilderness to the east. But Lord Murel is also known as a patron of the Charcoalers’ Guild and has started to implement plans for the economic development of Murelno and the Mineous hinterland.

This is the first part of the Mineous Forest Project, a series of articles focusing on locations and scenarios within Daenshire and Mineous Forest.

Inns & Temples

January 6, 2009

For some years several articles were available on the now defunct HarnMaster.net site. These four are two temples and two inns. These are all short (most only two page) write-ups of: The Menekod Temples of Larani and Peoni, the Queen Arelora Inn, Quivum, and the Silver Way Inn, Kiban. The inn articles contain scanned hand drawn maps of the inns, the temples are mapped using Mappa Harnica. These articles are many years old. The inns have been re-formatted and had some typing errors corrected. The Peonian Temple has been slightly expanded in order to fill two pages.

Irkhar Kyg

January 6, 2009

Irkhar Kyg is an ancient Khuzdul mine and trading post beneath what is now Gardiren Castle. In a unique twist, Irkhar Kyg is shown not as it is in 720TR, but as it was at its height in 700BT before the Battle of Sorrows, allowing GMs to use the article somewhere else with little or no modification. The article includes a mini-adventure, “The Cellar Job”, and an entire page of suggested adventure hooks. Maps by Thomas Shook.

HârnTown

September 3, 2008

An adjunct to HârnManor, this 4pp PDF deals with the development of a town in the same way that HârnManor deals with the development of a manor. Written by the same author that brought you IviniaThran, HârnTown is a useful tool for the GM to create a town that are believable and fairly consistent. Like that article, this one was also on HarnMaster.net and has been formatted anew.

IviniaThran

September 3, 2008

An adjunct to HârnManor, IviniaThran allows the GM to develop a thran in the lands where the Ivinian culture dominates, including Orbaal, Harbaal, and perhaps even the more remote, more conservative areas of Chelemby. Throughout the article, a worked example is given, guiding the GM through some of the more escoteric parts. This example is included in an Excel spreadsheet, which GMs can use to work their own creations. Written by the same author who brought you HârnTown, and once on HârnMaster.net, the article has been reformatted for life on Lythia.com, although the text hasn’t changed in any important way.
