Tuathaich are graded into five Circles, based on Ritual ML. There is, however no structured hierarchy like that of civilised religions. Use the following table:
Both men and women may chose to become tuathaich upon reaching puberty, if they show sufficient aptitude. Although the majority are expected to reach the third Circle and go on to become full tuathaich, this is by no means compulsory, and a substantial minority remain 'assistants' throughout their lives.
The assistant gains the following skills:
Ritual/2, Herblore/3, Foraging/2, Oratory/1, Embalming/1, Physician/1, Script (Taelda)/1
The assistant then gains three option points to be expended to improve his or her skills or open appropriate elective skills. For each year spent in training, the character may improve their Ritual skill by half SB.
Once an assistant has raised Ritual ML sufficiently to qualify for entering the third Circle, they may opt to become a Tuathar. If they chose not to do this, they cannot advance beyond the second Circle. There are no specific offices among the tuathaich; all are considered equal, although those with especially high skill will be best regarded.
LIGHT (New Invocation)
With marginal success, the illumination is doubled for about five minutes over a radius of 20 yards. With critical success, light equivalent to full daylight is produced at night time or in an enclosed area, or a dazzlingly brilliant illumination if sunlight is already present. The invoker will not be dazzled by critical successes. Halve ML if cast at night. The invoker is temporarily blinded on a critical failure.

Time: 25-RSI seconds
Range: 20 yards
Duration: RSI minutes
Increases the illumination in an area surrounding the tuathar. With MS, the illumination is doubled, with CS, light equivalent to full daylight is produced at night time or in an enclosed area, or a dazzlingly brilliant illumination if sunlight is already present. The invoker will not be dazzled by any light he or she creates. The RML for this invocation is reduced by -30 at night. The invoker is temporarily blinded on a CF.
