Krazma, I'm beginning to wonder if it's a Safari issue, but it shouldn't be. A couple of things to try:
  • do the standard clearing of the browser's cache
  • log out, log back in
  • click the "Delete all board cookies" at the bottom of any HarnForum screen (except posting screens)
  • this will force a new login as well, with a new cookie
  • try a different style; you can access it through your UCP as I described in a previous post
Please let me know how that goes.
Thanks! Clearing the cache seems to have resolved it, but there was a delay. I was still getting the symbol overlay on my screen, but then it all reset itself as I was manually logging in (but before I actually completed the log in process), and the symbols vanished. It might also have been an issue with my home wireless network communicating changes between my desktop and phone, I suppose. For the sake of completeness, I tried it on my iPad as well, and it worked fine.

I have cleared my browser cache (Chrome) on the laptop, and logged in/out.
It works. Thank you!!!

Great. I fixed one extra tiny, tiny graphics problem and I hope that's the end of this saga! :)

It's been a confusing journey, this upgrade...

I think I like the prosilver style better than the others I've made available. Because I have a 27" monitor, the old style is just too much text on the screen for my eyes. :)

Edit: and prosilver works very well on a mobile device too!
Cheers

The permissions theory strikes me as plausible. I'll be interested to see how that works out.

Edit: A plus - this post seems to have been counted. That leaves eight or so in BBailey's 'gray' area. If only I had taken advantage ... :?
I think you'll make up for lost posts in no time at all. :) I thought about changing your post count in the database again but really, posts you've made to this forum in the past (I mean, before the upgrade) were never counted, so there's just no point.
Cheers

No, no, no. I totally agree. Fixing the issue is important - a few post counts is not.

I had the same issue as krazma. It was frustrating. I fixed it by changing the screen theme. Not easy when it was hard to read the screen.

Do you change it back? And if so, did that work to clear the problem?

I've just done that and it's still fine, so it looks like it was a cache issue.

Clearing cookies and changing the theme seems to have done the trick on my iPad. Changed the theme back and it's still good. 8)
