Things seem to have slowed to a snails pace at Kelestia, any thing new coming soon?

If the art at Deviant Art is any indication, Chelemby City is moving forward. 8)

Any chance of getting a hint on what's in your pipeline (besides Venarive)?

With the publication of the excellent Chelemby city I feel I need to make use of this material and am planning a seafaring campaign with one end tethered to Rethem and the other to Chelemby (with hopefully sidetrips to Ledenheim and Alagon). I intend to make heavy use of some rivalries between the clans and remember where was talk at some point that a clans and people book regarding Chelemby is in development. Is that still the case? A book with profiles of clans and more important personalities in Chelemby including illustrations of them would be very welcome. If this is in the pipeline I'll start my campaign from the Rethem end.

Yes, but where? :D

Any other regions/kingdoms are in plan before Venarive? Maybe some part of Shorkyne or Harbaal (like Ledenheim)?

Venârivè is next in the pipeline.

Keléstia Productions is a small, volunteer-run, group. We are producing as much as we can, as quickly as we can - balancing the need to support what we have already produced with people's desire for us to expand to new areas. We have also set a high standard for our work; and good things take time.

Rest assured we are doing as much as we can.

We also welcome new volunteers at any time; and support them to contribute. If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me at jeremy@kelestia.com.

Regards

Jeremy

Is there a chance Kelestia products will be available in deadtree version via POD?

Re: Print on Demand

We continue to look at Print on Demand options - but most we have investigated so far have been prohibitively expensive. If you come across any good and affordable providers of POD services, let me know!

I have found Mimeo to be very competitive and flexible.
I don't use them, but that's only because I have a 5-year relationship with my AlphaGraphics guy where I print over a million pages every year. Sometimes I print 300 copies of a thousand-page documentation set, other times (like this week) I have a rush job for 10 workbooks to go to Ottawa.
Mimeo's pricing and service promises were virtually identical to my AlphaGraphics guy for all the things that Mimeo can do. That's not enough for me to abandon a good working relationship, but it may be good enough for KP to start one!

The question is, what are your needs. Do you want full service with ISBNs, logistic support, retail listings etc—so you do not see the finish product (a real bod-service). Or do you want a shop, which print a number of copies, trim and bind them? And Kelestia send the books to purchaser themselves.

PS: The easiest way to make the book cheaper is to print the inside in black/white as a colour print with a laser still costs a multiple of b/w.

PPS: It seems that mimeo has no real binding for their products.

Mimeo can do saddle-stitch binding with a color cardstock cover like the original printed Harn books, and they can do 3-hole drilling like the current CGI products. They can also drill for A4 paper.
The online pricing shows the price per book with the binder. I do not know if there is an online way to get a quote for a drilled product without the binder, but their customer service was very helpful when I spoke to them about a year ago. I am sure a human could get the order the way KP wants it.

Ok, with binding I mean a perfect binding or a hard cover binding. With bod and rpg-books this is the more traditional way ;)

It will be also no problem to print with Mimeo the pages and a jacket and bring it to a bookbinder for a perfect binding. Perhaps it would be better to make the jacket with a large scale inkjet printer as it will be more ruggedised. Especially by using a PE-coated paper. But a binding is not cheap, in Berlin I have to pay at last 5-8 EUR per book (when it is made by hand).

I think this problems brought CGI to the point to get their own colour laser-printer.
