Has anyone done anything with her?

She's listed as single, accomplished in needlepoint among other skills, and an agent for the White Hand. I'm less interested in the latter aspect, and rather more in how she's integrated into Kaldoric society.

Any commente and insights are appreciated. 8)

I briefly used her as I beleive her house is across from a house (in Tashal) that the players were incompetently (and sorcerously) trying to 'case out'. Nothing more than an 'Oh dear, Tut Tut, and be careful ' (to the shek pvar) aside and a re-direction onto another greater adventure...

My less than useful point is that her geographical location (I am not sure if I made that up?) created some of her...neighbours etc and her attitude to them placed her in a certain niche...which was Jane Austinesque Harnic styleee

Lady Bresyn Risai in my pHarn appeared briefly in the pregame of two of the PCs: the apprentice herald and the trainee Ilviran priestess.

I have her as in regular contact with Lady Derwen Verdreth, the king's Master of Esoterica. A few meetings are open, mostly at social gatherings such as those provided at the home of Lady Cheselyne Hosath (who prefers the designation: Princess Cheselyne ;) ) with occasional meets that most often appear coincidental at the Peonian temple or her rarer appearances at the Laranian temple (in my pHarn the worship of both is quite acceptable, even expected, of noble ladies). They also meet in secret, usually at the home of Lady Risai or the Save K'nor temple, facilitated by the Lyahvi magics of illusion by one and the Savoryan magics of the mind by the other.

Lady Bresyn is a consultant to the Master of Esoterica, her arrival due to the slowly growing incidences of magical bleedthrough from "the other side". The young PCs met her in the following way (with details elided in case any of my players reads this :) ):
Lumede of Tiselwaith did not look as harassed then as he does now and (E28, Upper Eastside) had an apprentice at this time. Late one summer evening, said apprentice went exploring in the sub-basement of the Tiselwaith home and accidentally released "something". The resultant "shouting" as he died was heard by most telepaths and Shek P'var in the city, including the PCs, who set out to investigate. Warned off at first by the Lady, they were within the hour part of a ritual set up hastily at the Ilviran temple just along the road, they and the priests aiding Lady Verdreth and Lady Risai in fighting off the presence... with the battleground being the body of the young Ilviran priestess, who has the Medium talent as well as Telepathy.
A week later, after the internal bruising had subsided, the PCs were rewarded suitably, most notably with the temple of Ilvir now having the right to an afternoon performance during the Tashal Fair but also with access to a book of algebra for the herald and a rose from the royal gardens for the priestess.

Other connections in my pHarn:
When Ars is seen visiting the alchemists of the Guild of Arcane Lore (H12), it is not always Ars but sometimes the Lady, disguised with magic.
Lady Bresyn is on nodding acquaintance with the sculptor who dwells opposite her home (H11).
She attended a party or two at Sir Danyes of Bernan's home (H8) soon after arriving but not since then.
She is sometimes seen dining at Galopea's Feast (H15), most often in the company of noble ladies.
She casts horoscopes for the same noble ladies and a select few others, eg. Haber of Sarlis (I9) and on one occasion for Sir Rohn of Sarlis (B5).
Soon she will meet Matakea Varotta (H6).

IMO she is a Savoryan Shenava with ties to the GoAL or CoE whether or not they are commonly known or rumored (She is from Melderyn and had a past plus the Chelebin tournament brings a lot of traffic through Olokand and Tashal (I don't know but a friend of a friend......) or known to a handful advertised but that depends on the P-Harn. She is apparently wealthy, IMO that would be investigated to some degree and hard to fake over time so I favor a wealthy bastid heiress of a Clan like Nenn or even Dulye since they possess all those Bailiff Manors along with WH support. For various reasons based on her description she would cultivate ties with many of the following based on position and cited circumstances plus their access to gossip and rumor networks:

Lady Cheselyne Hosath.

Lady Erila Kaphin.

Sir Lysat Haith or another Bachelor Knight.

Royal Bard Eltan Lithas lots of gossip.

Harper Guild Master Lanas of Sosora travels so lot of gossip and rumors from the Harper network.

Dame Vena Peltrei.

Rodin Kynn the Royal Astrologer.

Yenin Kynn apprentice Astrologer who needs some instruction and access to lots of gossip.

Lady Cerieme Aswain.

Lady Donesyn Dariune.

Clan Harabor parties.

Kodar of Narad Guild Master Clothier with three teenage daughters hard to believe none of them are little gossips.

Sulaplyn Brygyne Kynge.

Avasana Serilia of Arikor.

A few Haliki at the temple of Save Knor.

Rosak of Kass.

Querene of Valain.

Master Alfric of Esaldin.

Interesting stuff. I especially like the scream heard by the telepaths - I might have to borrow that one. Also the speculation on her origins is key. There is no manor in Melderyn held by a Risai. So where did she come from?

All this is because I am considering having her become the Earl of Vemion's second wife, the Countess Ialny having finally succumbed to her injuries IMC.

Clan Dulye bastid and distant royal cousin of the king could work. Pretty easy to use "Sir" Staphane Dulye before his career in the church perhaps with a minor clan in Emelrene or Shorkyne. A son or a daughter who ended up inheriting a maternal manor or two a daughter might have taken her husband's name of Risai when she married.

Could also be an acknowledged bastid granddaughter of Baron Nethan Maradayne and half sister or cousin of his grandson heir for a wealthy heiress with a nice dowry catching the eye of an Earl.

I took it that the Risai administer a manor or two as bailiffs in Melderyn.
I play it that she is discreet about her magical abilities and work, with most of her interactions with Kaldorites being of the "Jane Austen" new lady in the district type... lunching, socialising, entertaining with music and horoscopes, ladies' sewing circle. So yes, an eminently suitably second wife for Caldeth imo.
And if one goes with one of Sageryne's hints in The Earl's Progress, he may know of magical ability at closer hand than most and not be afeared of it :) .

I like this. Not a bastard, but a sister of the heir. She had an early marriage to a knight bachelor named Risai who died somehow. She went to Tashal with her brother and stayed as the unofficial Melderyni ambassador.

That also makes her a relation of the Constable of Hutop.

Cool. 8)

I've played her this way too, though she is a Deryni IMC per my house rules.

Discreet, but powerful in her own right.

I really your Deryni and made a Quarter Deryni variant with Shields 6 and Negation without the standard Deryni abilities for some of those generational skip thin bloodlines. They roll on the Harn Gold Player or HM3 charts as a regular human for psionic talents and or a mix of minor talents. I'll swap 2 - 4 Minor Talents for a standard psionic talent. Usually not real popular in those pure Deryni clans.

Perhaps she has an unmentioned son or two from that previous marriage.

Another candidate might for marriage might be the Earl's Tashal spymaster.
