Hello all,

New to the forum; Grant D. directed me here :D

I have been working for some months on a heavily modified d20 system; major differences between 'canon' d20:

- Used most classes listed in the d20 conversion document [attributed to Shane Morales - anyone have a contact for him???];
- A variation of the Shek-P'var; the P'varic magic conversion listed in the DD3E conversion document [a *lot* of effort from me, converting/categorizing spells into P'varism]; yet it is not the only magic;
- I felt the "humans first" rules for skills in D&D was wrong; they don't get an extra 4 @ L1 / +1 skill pt per level

I will post when I can; if there is interest, some of my files could be uploaded here.
---
Mostly, there is such a strong following of the base d20-type system, that it was easiest to engage all players this way. One day I will try some of the mechanics of HM, but I'd always leaned towards a RQ-type system after my initial disillusion with some of the core D&D mechanics. Gotta find the right group of players first though.

Cheers,

~Jim

Hello All!

Actually, my desire for a D20 Harn is strong enough to have brought me to this forum! I'm very much interested in any doc/pdf file you could have on this, especially the ones you're working on Grey Mage!

I should have something in the next month or so; if nothing else, the 'old' files I've been working with, courtesy of an insider @ CG :D will be uploaded. More as I get my rules set finalized.

Shane Morales' old d20 Hârn Guide is available here on Google Docs.

That is one of 2 items [also the DD3E .pdf], along with classifying spells into convocations. I liked bits of both docs, along with my own way of using spell points [instead of the ghastly way that D&D does them] :?

Thank you so much! Great job from Shane Morales indeed!

And great job for this forum too: I just found in one of those threads some interesting ideas and work using Modern D20 and "Grim Tales" for Harnification of D20, and I like it!

So many hours of tinkering and tweaking in perspective :D

I would actually prefer a way to port Harn to any of the Traveller rules sets (Mongoose Traveller, since it's the one in publication). But that's for a separate thread, which I should put up myself.

Just as soon as I can make myself.

I believe the Nolomar Rising campaign uses the Traveler Ruleset. Just read the prologue, and see for yourself:

I think he uses some form of D&D.

Transformation from from Harn to D20 would be a difficult task but it will help many new players. I am quite interested in this. Wish you luck for your project.
