3-6 months is a reasonable guess, as well as anyone can predict CGI releases.
I don't know Richard's plans for the art beyond the basic specs.

It should be out some time this year. Or I'll consider it late, even by CGI standards.

For the 53rd time - Bedenes first, then Rethem. They have Bedenes, finished and ready to go. Call CGI.
Rethem is right behind it, already in Canon Edit. Richard in charging forward on artwork. Somebody, maybe Grant, will do the historical maps (Grant has done them in the past, and done them well.)
All the writing is done. There is no reason not to see both parts of Rethem this year. The surest way to get action from CGI is to call them.

So it is Bedenes first you say, hmm, nope, its still don't sinking in, perhaps if you say it a 54th time.

Sorry, I had to

Save for the Atlas Map (C-6) which was slated to go with this HQ. So, I am the hold up at the moment.

There's also a Bestiary article in there to fill out the page count; CGI has that as well.

Please remember (and for the benefit of newbies here) none of us are CGI employees. We have a tight team of contributors who all have non-Harnic careers and families to tend to, and we work on HarnStuff because when CGI was left to do it themselves nothing was published for eons. So we write, illustrate, lay out, edit, and canon review everything, then we give it to CGI.
At that point CGI may publish it or they could sit on it forever, or they could sit on it while they finish up a boardgame product, etc. So when I say <article title> is next, that means that's the next thing they have from our canon crew. Usually that is the next thing they print, but CGI has been known to pull the rug from under us.
An example of that was last year when we were assembling a little Herblore expansion of maybe 12pp as a filler to go with some bigger Articles. CGI loved it and that blew up into two full HQs devoted to potions and herblore. I think they are great products that can enrich any campaign (even the non-magic types), but they delayed other great products. It's not my business, I don't make the calls, I just pass on to you the latest and best information available about long-awaited products like Rethem.

And we appreciate the info you pass along John. :D Some news is better than no news.
I have given up on worrying about when the next Harn acticles will be out. I just get them when they show or if I need them. I do admit to chomping at the bit about Rethem a few years back, just because I wanted to run a camapign there. But now my game is in Tharda AND since I'm using Rothesay's "Meldreyni Campaign" as a back drop... everything in the Rethem article will soon be out of date. It will still be great to have and I do want it, but there is no panic for it game wise.

Well, not everything. Most of the nobles end up backing the new kid in town. Most of them.

The final text has been approved. We await illustrations and a few maps (like Arlun's Conquests, Ezar's War) and the political map. Richard says he'll have the illos done by the end of September. The maps we don't know yet, but they should not be too long. CGI wants to make the political map more visually appealing, so that will probably go to Richard after the illos are off his plate.
CGI is as eager to see it released as we are, but they know how hotly anticipated it is so they want to do everything they can to make it great.

Well that's probably the best news I've had today. Almost has me smiling as much as Saturday's rugby result. (I'm an Exeter Chiefs fan.) :D

It was a good result (I won't mention Llanelli and Cardiff) - Whoops!

Peter, what can you mean?
I didn't even mention how many more chickens Cardiff and Llanelli have compared to Exeter. And if we were talking swine or goats, well ... now that's obscure.

Cardiff being far more urban than Exeter, I'd imagine we have many more chickens then they do. (not sure about LLanelli though).

Make sure when representing the count of the aforesaid fowl you do it in the correct manner; as there is a problem particular to chickens in this regard...

Ensure you put it thus: Cardiff chickens #500, Exeter chickens #501 etc.

Why? Well we all know one shouldn't count ones chickens before they are hashed.

(I was thinking of asking my moderator imposed moniker could be removed as it is a new month...maybe not now)
