It looks really great! The map of the city is really a work of art. But, is it possible to see a few pages of the write up too? That's what I'm most interested in seeing. :D

Bought it, but only had the chance to skim it.

It looks great. I also like CGI style, but I don't mind at all that Kelestia is doing things differently. I'll try to print it and start reading it later today.

Now with Chelemby and surroundings getting more and more flesh on the bones, I'm torn between Rethem and Chelemby on where to head next in my campaign. I suppose the right thing to do would be to start two new parallel campaigns...

Set your campaign on a boat. One which regularly trades between Chelemby and Golotha - the riches of Lythia in exchange for Rethemi slaves, pelts and wild animals.

I once had a campaign where the party were based in Eshapel (Eshaven) and who visited Harn regularly as guards to a merchant. Since the merchant's business could take a long time, they had plenty of time to explore Harn, and in between they had plenty of urban adventures in the big city.

First of all, very nicely done!

I couldn't help noticing the map in the excerpt; a lot of detail for something only the GM will see, or is a larger version (without key #) also included in the module?

On a similar note, was mapping program did you use to make map?

Cheers,

George

George

The Poetic Map (in the Preview) is supplied for use with players, if the GM wishes. It does not have key numbers, and is included in the module in both colour and greyscale versions.

The location map (in the Excerpt) is for GMs. We chose an excerpt which won't reveal too much to players :)

The location / interior maps are produced in Adobe Illustrator.

Jeremy

Top marks to everyone who helped write and develop this, not least Robin. I've purchased my copy and it is everything I hoped for and more. Thanks guys. I believe a Chelembian shieldmaiden is next on the cards!

Thank you all for the responses, it's nice to hear.

Yes, it's a lot of work for those interior maps particularly if only the GM sees them. We're looking at options to further utilize them.

Cheers!

Ken

Ken - I think the Poetic Map sets new City Map standards. I wonder what Golotha would look like presented similarly ... mmmm .... when might I have some time to play ....

I like this product, but am I missing something? Neither the interactive map, nor the module show contours or ground elevations.

The interactive map does not have contours, you are correct. N. Robin Crossby strongly believed that the "relief" mode of mapping was superior to contour mapping. We have chosen not to alter his map.

In any case, Chelemby city is all at a fairly low and uniform elevation.

The individual layout plans for buildings in the module, however, do have elevation information.

I trust this clarifies the issue.

Jeremy

Hi all,

I was lucky enough to see an advanced preview at HarnCon this year. This is an outstanding product and sets a new standard for quality. Many, many compliments to the whole team for their obvious dedication and hard work. It is a fitting tribute to Robin.

I just wanted to ask what software you used for the poetic map. It is truly amazing and is the sort of thing that as a player I would love to see.

Well done guys!

- Kerry

Thanks Kerry,

The poetic map was drawn by Marc Grunert using photoshop and a wacom graphics tablet.

So, will you be selling paper copies (for those who don't have easy access to letter sized paper or printers to handle such)?

I bought this product, in fact it deserve a campaign by his own. Some thing beset me a while, like the sewer system that seems a bit sophisticated for the time, or the many empty place inside the wall. :? Otherwise, I like the idea for the 'police', It had a flavor of 'big city' not see anywhere in known Kethira. Great description, the feeling of each quarter is descripted, in brief a really good product, but I think it a real departure from the previous module, so it may baffles many old addict of Harn.

Sorry for my English, I'm a frog-eater, so be gentle with me (but fell free to point my mismatch in English  )

Welcome, Terisonen!

Your English seems pretty good to me, FAR superior in fact to anything I may be able to mumble in any other language.

Not be able today to read, write and speak English sounds to me to be illiterate, as the world goes. So far, in XVIII eme Century it was French.

We have today updated the file for Chélemby: City of the Sea Kings. In a product as large and complex as this, even the best proof-reading and checking, some things always seem to slip through.

We think we have (with some great feedback from people who have purchased the product!) knocked the few remaining gremlins on the head...

If you have already purchased Chélemby: City of the Sea Kings, then please feel free to re-download it. You will find the download link in the "Files" section of your account at www.kelestia.com. If you have any issues, please feel free to email me at jeremy@kelestia.com.

The changes are not major, but we are dedicated to getting this stuff right...

Enjoy!

Regards

Jeremy
