Hi Guys,

Afraid I screwed up - I'm in France over the weekend and only get back Monday night, so I can't make it. Anyhow, the pub near Olympia I would recommend is called the Scarsdale:

http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1350.html

Its a little bit of a walk, but its a nice place, especially if the weather is nice enough to sit out front. Besides Kensington Olympia (which can be tricky to get to) it is equidistant between High Street Kensington, West Kensington and even Earls Court I think - but I'll leave you guys to plot your courses on Google.

There are a number of pubs opposite the actual Olympia convention hall but the only one I would really rate is th Cumberland Arms which is just down north end road:

http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub3210.html

Anyway - have fun. Apologies for missing this. If things do change and the moot moves to later in the week I'll try to drop back in.

Cheers,

G

Sorry about that Grendel, and thanks for the suggestions.

I propose we meet at the Scarsdale - it looks nice and will probably be easier to access (and we can have nice food if we decide on eating later on). On the 8th at 6:00PM.

All right for everyone?

Cheers,

Roland

Great, see you then. (I probably won't be eating afterwards, though.)

Well, it seems that a modest suggestion for pints has become a bit of an gathering. Not familiar with the Scarsdale, but I'm always up for trying a new pub. 1800 on the 8th it is.

One question: some (all?) of you may know each other personally, but I'll be a bit stuck on how to recognize people. Any suggestions on how to pick you out of a crowd?

I met Dan a last year's Hârncon in Leeds and could probably recognise Timo from his avatar. recognizing Bill from his Luschek avatar will be more challenging though.

If Timo comes we can all home in on him!

Hahahaha, especially because I might be the easiest one to spot in the crowd - with 197cm. ;-)
I know Bill personally, so I might meet up with him either there or even before.
Bill had a picture of him and me online - check his website news archive.

Regards,

Timo

With this and Timo's height, I think we're all set - and there's five of us! Cool. :D

See all of you soon,

Hi guys,

since yesterday, I have a problem with my back. Last night, it became worse. It took ages to get into sitting position, and ages again to stand up...
I hope, it's just that I pulled a muscle or got a nerve caught, when I was playing badminton on Wednesday. I hope it's not that I slipped a disc. (Hope that's correctly expressed.) ;-)
Damn... getting old isn't fun.
Makes my think about amending the HM damage tables... ;-)

OK... so regarding Monday, I hope that I will feel better. I'll try my best to be there. But I just wanted to warn you beforehands.
AND I thought one of you guys might know a doctor in the Uxbridge area. ;-)

Regards,

Timo

I sometimes have the same problem, and I sympathize - cause it hurts like hell.

What I do now is to rush to the Osteopath at the first symptoms. He puts back my spine in place and two days later I'm fine. Unfortunately, mine is in Bayonne - so it won't help you much.

Hope you'll be fine soon.

Cheers,

Roland

Thanks, Roland.

Just came back from the hospital.
The good news: it’s not a disc, it’s not a nerve. It’s a pulled muscle or two.
The not so good news: apart from a quick check, they wouldn’t do anything else. To see a physiotherapist, I have to see a GP first. Nothing to do about that.
But they gave me some nice new drugs. They checked them 4 times at Boots before handing them over to me. Let’s see if I can learn to fly now. ;-)

That being said, I'll try my best to join you guys on Monday.

Regards,

Timo

Well, I still feel some pain in the back.
But it's not unbearable.

Therefore, I am pretty sure I will join you guys.

See you later!

Timo

Good to know you'll be there Timo. I need something to identify the group, since I haven't met any of you before.

THIS is Roland (aka Christophe) trying to decide whether to move any closer to Steffen.

I wish I was closer to London (I think that’s the first time I’ve ever said that!) :?

Gents,

it has been my pleasure meeting you all!

My special thanks go to Christophe for his very entertaining campaign overview.
Mate, there are now 4 more witnesses who know about your completely fleshed out campaign. So no chance for you to get away with not writing it down and publishing it at Lythia.com! ;-)

In one evening, the number of people from the HârnForum to whose names I can now actually put a face has more than doubled! (I only have met Thorvald "hrafn" and Bill "Warflail" in person so far.)

I hope we will be able to have a nice evening with some refreshing pints again one day!

Regards,

Timo

Yes, great to meet you all and hope to do so again soon.

I look forward to hearing what the earl of Tormau and the knights of the Checkered Shield have been up to.

Dan.

Hahahahaha... have they been outside for a while? Did we miss some politicaly interesting conversation? ;-)

But actually, what they have told us about Tuomos e-mail game sounded really nice.
Sadly, I think I completly missed the announcement - if I recall correctly.
Anyway, all my HârnWorld Kingdom Modules are still in a box on an attic in Berlin, Germany.
I only have access to the HârnWorld module at the moment - which is probably not enough to seriously participate in the campaign anyway.

'Tis a cunning plan. If I tell it to enough people, I won't have to write it at all! :P

Damn, we've been found out... Soon Tormau and the Checkered Shield will crush Tharda! Dennyl Lynnaeus will reinstate the Corani Empire from Kustan to Trobridge and the Grandmaster will lead a new Fighting Order issued from a fusion of Laranian and Agrikan ones. We will be unstoppable. MUHAHAHAHA!

Why don't you talk it out with Tuomo? Send him a pm and see how it can be arranged. I'm sure a spot can be found, and as Nathan and I told you - it's a lot of fun. :D

Thanks to all of you guys for a nice evening. We started out at around 6:15 and ended when they kicked us out at 11:30! I didn't even see the time fly.

Cheers,

Roland/Christophe

Gentlemen,
Thank you all for an enjoyable evening. I don't remember the last time five hours flew by that quickly.

With the exception of some trips to the States and the Continent, I hope to be in London for the foreseeable future. We should endeavor to do that again, and provide another opportunity for those who were unable to meet last night.

(My Dear Earl of Tormau, our joint plan for Kelestian domination will come to naught if you spread it all over the forums! Secrecy until the time is ripe, and then strike with a mailed fist. -Grandmaster Telfane)

Thanks, guys,

An excellent night out - good company, great conversation and a fine tale told by Roland. We should do this more often!

Hey if I could win powerball befor my passport expires I'd love to go back to London. If I did I might be persuaded to buy a few pints.

Of course the odds of me winning powerball are slim to none and I think slim left town.

I decided to wake this thread from the dead. And hijack it at the same time. 8)

I am going to London tomorrow, and will stay until Friday. If someone wants to share some stories and some Pints, it would be great!
