The pin was definitely off for me, putting me in Charlestown. At max magnification, if you click down twice, and right once, that puts me more or less square in the middle. Not too bad. 8)

So, I wound up on some waste ground near the airport. Isn't there some way to drag and drop your pin?

Consider yourselves lucky! Canberra is not detailed at all, except for lakes. No roads, not even any mention of the city's name on the map.

I guess Frapper is still in Beta, but I would have expected them to put in at least the major cities. It's not like the street maps for these places aren't available, or anything.

Looks like my cover has been blown -- Frapper placed me right in the graveyard!

And Peter, at least Frapper's got nice satellite photos of Canberra.

I think the neatest thing about the whole frapper thing is I am learning what many of you really look like. Odd how seldom the reality looks like what I pictured from the text. Also odd how a fit a group we seem to have, myself excluded of course!

Ah yes...I was using the street map version. These sat pics are the same as Google Earth, which I have.

My pin seems to be located under a tree in a park across the road from the Chinese embassy, and just down the road from the US Embassy. Which is not exactly where I live, in case that wasn't obvious. :)

My pin shows me living in the East China Sea about a half mile off shore and about 2 miles from where I actually live, but I would call that close enough.

It seems that I live in the water south of the medieval part of Stockholm.

My pin on max zoom on sat puts me 1 block North of our new baseball stadium. The map shows the stadium (the Padres' Petco Park) as unfinished although it has been opened for awhile now. My office is about 11 blocks west from the pin.

It put me on Empire Circuit in Forrest. I can think of worse places! Looks like it picks somewhere random in the general area.

Not to bad. The pin came down about half a mile from my place. Worringly though I reckon it's in an nursing home.

It put my pin some 800m from my house, that's fairly reasonable

That's pretty cool. Thanks for setting it up.

Hey, Peter, how about linking to it from here and/or from Lythia.com?

I'll do you one better, by the way. I live here (save as a .kml and open with Google Earth):

I am basically posting to move this thread to the top of the column and encourage others, who may not have seen it, to put their pin in the map.

Maybe this should be a sticky?

The maps were just updated. New satelite images are available. The reason we cannot place our pin is based on privacy.

But, I'm in the phone book. Anyone, (shudder) anyone who can read and read a map, could find me.

If they had a map.

And a phone book.

And wanted to bother. 8O

The deep south seems rather void of Harniacs.

Gack. I posted under my real name, then realized I should use my handle here. Could you remove the Thomas S. Higgins pin in northern Denver, and just keep the Argent one? It's closer to my actual home. The first looks like an industrial building, and the Argent pin is pretty close to a strip club, so I'll definitely keep that one. Thanks!

Oh, and Paul, how's it going down there at Buckley?
