I am still around and check this forum regularly for other Melbourners popping up! Head on over to gamecircle.org, and also to Our Roleplaying Clubs, Melbourne's rpg mailing list. There's also nearbygamers.com which gives you a google map of those near you, once you sign up.

GameCircle.org has a Geektogether in Melbourne each season, the next one will be September 3rd. We just go to a pub and get several game groups together for a few drinks and a chat. Usually a group or two forms out of that, and the keenest people get an extra group to join.

I've still not had the chance to run a Harn-based campaign, but have done some very similar stuff, as you can see with my write-ups

Tiwesdæg Clíewen
Tiwesdæg Clíewen 2

My current campaign is a late republican Rome one, but I'll be wanting to return to good old Saxonish stuff for the next one - and I run closed-ended campaigns of a dozen sessions or so, so the wait's not indefinite in length.

Give me an email, kyle3054@iprimus.com.au, and join those those websites and the mailing list.

A couple of weeks ago a 1/2 dozen of us played Harn in Melbourne. It was the first time I'd played the game (1st edition) in about twenty years. I ran "A Thousand Bushels of Rye" for them. Had a nice "Aliens" feel about it.

Character genereation wasn't the best, the rest of the game system itself was OK, the setting was fine. One of the PCs wasn't even a Serf/Slave!

All said however myself and another person are considering using the small mountain of Harn modules we own to run a campaign, probably using some hacked together version of RuneQuest III as the core game system.

And the Sydney group is still alive and well- five players and the GM... my only compalint is Exchook just seems to love those damn Ivinians. Cry "freedom!" I say we should all be Jarin and kick the nasty Ivvies out.

We use HM3 ... its so nice to be in an game.. I used to look dispairingly at my harn stuff now it actually gets used yippee!!

I've just started another Harn campaign in Canberra, and there may be another added very soon, as my old Harn group has expressed some interest in starting a new one...this time in Kanday, I think. I'll be using the Savage Worlds rule system, though. Rules that don't intrude on the story or the roleplaying. :) Fudge would also be good, come to think of it.

Pretty much just a collector down here in Hobart for the last couple of years. I am heading over to HarnCon Wellington in January, though, for a gaming fix. :)
