Looking for a harn gamer update for Colorado.

Jay and I are in North Colorado Springs and use a mix of HMG and house rules.

We're trying for a mid-fantasy feel.

Shaun might also be in town, but lost contact during me last trip to the sand box.

A little late, but I live in the stetson hills area and would love to play in a harn campaign

Welcome, Sabrestrike!

I run an approximately monthly Harn campaign in Colorado Springs, based in the Chybisan manor of Genilden.

Sadly, with eight players, this campaign is full.

Overflowing, actually.

Consider a remote NPC for Sabrestrike.
When I ran my Jarin Rebellion campaign, I had two remote PCs play the commanders of the Orbaalese hardliners and moderates factions. That ensured that my players, who knew me for years, could not predict the actions of their opponents since even I did not know what they were thinking.
As time goes on, you may be able to work in a parley session in which he drives down for a night (really for a beer and socializing) to role-play some crucial event, then goes home for more remote-play.
The key to making this work with minimal headaches is to have a set schedule during which some events will occur regardless of PC and NPC actions. It helps keep everyone on track.

Sabrestrike, if you would care to hang out with us, that would be great. We play on the west side of town, a few miles from the intersection of Garden of the Gods Road and I-25. The group currently consists of eight men and one woman aged between early thirties and mid fifties. Our next session is currently scheduled for August 28.

However, as I said, this campaign is currently full and with the way things are going, I don't think that I could easily devise an NPC role like John suggests. Sadly, you would be a spectator, at least for now.

Hey all,

I run a campaign based in the Nelafayn and currently have 4 players. I will be switching from D&D 3.5E to HarnMaster3 at the beginning of the year (I'm hoping to keep everyone through the transition, but y'never know). We meet every two weeks at my house in Parker (the next session being Friday, November 20th). There are a couple chairs free at the table at the moment, and I personally would be really pleased to have players who are experienced with the system and the setting. Look forward to hearing from you!

Matt

Well, it seems that I might be losing three of my players when I restart my campaign based in Chybisa. I might have a slot. The campaign is currently paused while I buy a house and move in..

Hello, Coloradans -- I'd be quite interested in a Harn campaign, if I can commit the time. Just joined the board and am getting oriented to the setting specifics (though I did lots of medieval history in college, which helps!).

Feel free to PM if you'd like to interview me, or whatever.

I have an opening in my Harn campaign.

It is set in the area of Genilden manor in southeastern Chybisa. The player characters are the family, retainers, and hangers-on of the local manor lord (an NPC). There are PCs of both high and low social status. Multiple player characters are allowed for each player, though any particular session will tend to focus on only one or possibly two at a time. There are no particular restrictions on a player character's race, status, gender, or esoteric ability, though each character will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Politics and social interactions (even if only the "politics" within the confines of the local inn) are an important part of the campaign; there have been entire sessions with little or no combat or “adventuring”. My goal is to have the player characters be part of a believable culture, tied to the feudal society (or at least dealing with it, as in the case of barbarian characters with their own cultures). The non-player characters in the campaign do not realize that they are “merely” NPCs; they have their own lives to lead and their own ambitions. On the whole, this is a "realistic" fantasy campaign. While characters may be silly or flippant, I want them to be so within the campaign world.

Magic, psionics, and the various non-human races of Harn exist as presented in the canon. While most of the scenarios so far have focused on the local area, there are plot threads dealing with other parts of Chybisa and also Kaldor and Trobridge Inn.

We use the Harnmaster 3 rules. We are still in the process of getting used to them. For battles we use miniatures on a hex mat.

The five current players are in the age range of about mid-thirties to mid-fifties. We play approximately monthly on Saturdays (though there have been hiatuses) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Currently we meet on the west side of town, though eventually the game will be held at my home near Union and Academy. There is a dog at our current location in case anyone has allergies. Smokers will be asked to smoke outside. Our next session is scheduled for June 26, 2010.

I am looking for someone who loves the Harn setting. PM me or reply here if you have an interest in joining us.

- Ed
