Greetings All,
This post serves a number of purposes. First off, the copy of the beastiary article I submitted to Peter must have been corrupted - the artwork comes out Horrible - and it took the artist noticing it for me to realize something was wrong...
So apologies to Richard, he drew the art for Nihlorn Years ago and now it gets published ... poorly. I have submitted a revised PDF file to Peter for posting. If you have already downloaded the file and been disappointed with the artwork, please PM me and I will send it to you direct, or you can wait until Peter has it reloaded on the download page. Final request, if anyone would care to comment on the article I would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you,
John

A most terrifying monster you got there John.
So here is my feed back!
I do like the back story, and having the amount of intelligence to operate god stones is a nice hook. But I kind of find it wasted if the players can´t communicated with it. Although maybe no side would be so inclined; hungry or terrified not there to have a chat...
I´m also missing some kind of tale of it´s origin, how did it come to be, does it know it self?
How does it feed? If it can project acid sprays I would guess that it does not devour it´s pray right away but rather kill it and have it decompose a bit before it starts the process of swallowing?

Rule wise I don´t really think that the joint chopping works that well, you should rather include it in the strike locations, and then have specified aiming zones. Although that would have to be tried. I also thing that 8E in a joint is VERY high!
Also I think comparing what I can see of the drawing to a 5B strike I think it´s arms are to small. Maybe Nilhorn can attack with the weight of its body using that enormous strength but the arms by themselves seem so thin.

I guess being such a monstrous monster it would not fit in my current campaign, but if I had had the chance I might have included it into my previous campaign where there was quite a few god stone travels involved.

Thank you for sharing!

John has sent through the file again with improved artwork rendering. Go download it again.
