Does this mean Arlun is pronounced 'Arr Lynn' ?

I pronounce Alun as Alin (sort 'i' and in 'in')
So Arlun is Arlin

However, my grandfather would have said Alun is pronounced Aleeen (long 'eee' perhaps a bit like 'ean' in 'lean')
So Arlun is Arleeen - not, perhaps the butchest interpretation.

My own view is that Arlun is a Corani corruption of Arlyn, which is pronounced by the Kubora as Arlun ('un' as in 'under'). A close tranalation might be 'on, or in relation, to a lake'. That may refelct the place where Alun was born or some aspect of the journey he made during his manhood ceremony.

PS: Peter is right to 'roll' the 'Ar' a little, though too much turns into teach yourself Pirate as in 'Arrrgh Lean! Lean, lad, lean I says!'.

Thank you for sharing it with us, Arlun!

Steady on! I know Alun is a celt but to call him a barbarian is a little rich these days! I mean they have roads and bridges and everything.
Darn, I am reading too much Rethem history!

There is only one thing I am missing (besides the following two adventures ): information about the ship Breyta and its crew. There are only the descriptions of the captain and of Vigdis but nothing else. I have got the impression that there could be a complete background article missing. After all, it is one of the main locations of the adventure.

You correctly identify something that might have been. A write-up of the Breyta was in the original campaign plan but several things intervened:

1. Time - I was conscious that if I didn't get it out soon then I might never finish the damn thing; I am not by nature a 'completer finisher'. I was much more interested in getting it out to people and then finishing Part 3 and getting the structure of PArt 4 into a place that could allow it to be finished. I'll look for the spreadsheet I used to get as far as I did with defining her - anyone is welcome to fill in the blanks and post her back here, with my gratitude.

2. The Mechanics - I did once create a ship to carry players to Hepekeria and my recollection was that it was more trouble than it was worth. Don't get me wrong I think the Pilots Almanac has much to recommend it but it's just a bit too dense for me to want to use the ship building section more than once every decade or so. This time around it was enough to use the PA rules for movement and to summarise that in the notes from Captain Grim's rutter.

3. Dead Weight - I'd meant to mention this in the introductory notes but forgot; it would be possible to use that ship instead of the Breyta as a source of crew and ship. I know it's not a knaar and you'd have to change crew motive a lot, but as a characterful collection of NPCs it could be helpful.
A complete write-up of the ship with PA stats, plans and details to all crew members would of course be the luxury variant. The simple solution could be to include a short paragraph with the ships type and size, the actual number of crew members and the number (and size) of the whale boats. This would already be very helpful.

Anyway - thanks for the feedback. I'd begun to think RoAE had disappeared without a trace.
200+ of you have downloaded it and the articles but few have commented.
One explanation could be that it really take some time to read all that stuff you wrote. Keep it shorter and you will get your feedback earlier! :)

I also spotted a few minor errors. If you are interested I can PM them to you.

Fair point - Golotha: Deeper Dark is MUCH shorter; barely a linking interlude.

PM me the comments by all means

Aha. I always pronounced it "AR-loon" (which, I suppose, would make you a loon).

However you pronounce it, it's an excellent piece of fanon. Thanks!

And to second what Holger said, it takes a while to read. The comments will come, I'm sure. Be patient. We were.

... which is why the most imaginative pronounciation of my name was 'A Loon'!

Holger has been good enough to begin the process of errata construction.

If you spot any others then let me know and then I can produce a proper errata sheet.

Knowing HArniacs as I do that should set dozens of people reading it in search of 'the final typo'. Once we reach 100 errata points I will close the competition. Also be aware that I will not be accepting changes to what I might grandly describe as my writing 'style' as an errata. The vagaries of my written language, friends, you have to live with!

So far we have ...

[Sholen Nolgind]:
The compass roses are missing on two of the maps.

[Tirsa Pirates 2]:
Several typos in the paragraph about Suevi Hilden.

[RoAE 9]:
On the character sheet of Aslin the AML and DML columns are empty. The E impact of Foot/Knee is a "v".

[RoAE 31]:
There is something wrong with the text in the paragraph "The Beast of Blood Part 4".

The League table therefore has a single entrant: Holger (4) ... who is next?

Holger also makes the point that came up with HoD - my NPC stats aren't entirely canon-consistent.

That's because I'm lazy and use one of several very helpful fan-produced character creators for the NPCs. I therefore inherit any house rules the writers have built into them &/or any HarnMaster version differences depending on their edition of choice.

While my practice won't change Holger's suggestion that I point out what I've used to prepare the NPC stats is a good one. So ... once all the errata are in I'll add details of which creators I use so people can reverse engineer the NPCs back to canon-perfect versions if they want to.

Perhaps that's not the ideal solution, but I'm afraid it's the only one I'm likely to produce.

Of course, comments on content are as welcome as those on errata!

[Movel Gamle Hem 6]
On the players map there are still the index numbers for the Thranaal (1a to 1g).

And just for the sake of completeness:
[RoAE 6-8]
Basic facts about the ship and its crew are missing.

Alun, I would volunteer to generate HM3 canon stats for the NPCs of HoD and RoAE, if you can give me a template and a few weeks. If I am ever to GM your campaign I would do that anyway.

Holger - attached is the the stat block I use. Feel free to tinker.
