Wow, with all these wonderful new Harn offerings I can't help but think Christmas has come really early this year.

My Compliments to Mike St-Pierre, Dan Bell, Dan Greening, Dave St-Pierre, and Richard Luschek for an excellent piece of fanon.

I particularly like "Beauty and the beast" and the "White Rays".
I intend to use them both ASAP! :D

Wow,

Very well done Mike, Dan B, Dan G and Dave.

I really love the Harn Pottage series. One of the best parts is the fact that because it is unbound by canon, it allows the opportunity to explore all sorts of different and unique locations. I really love the maps, they are what drew me to Harn long ago and Mike's maps never fail to impress.

Keep up the good work.

- Kerry

Hi,
this one deserves more feedback. Here's mine:

The pottage-series is by far my favourite one. Nearly every encounter or location perfectly fits into existing games which makes them very useful. I've used a few of the locations already and plan to use more in my campaign. The maps are great, there's a lot of good art and it is always well written. I would happily pay for it.

This is also true for the new edition. This one focusses on encounters. My favourite one is the adventure that surrounds the "Noble Inn". This must be the most irritating background ever told in a HM publication. Man, coffin birth, where did you hear of that?

Other cool pieces are the Peonian fighting order and the keep. But the rest is of similar high quality.

My only criticism is, that the hooks of the adventures are a bit similar: There's a problem in the village and the root of all evil is something mysterious in a nearby cave. Moreover the victims are always children (and mothers).

My conclusion: Another outstanding piece of fanon and I wish this will not be the last of the series.

Kind regards,
R.

I would like to echo Aghori's post, above: excellent work and many thanks to the Pottage crew.

On a minor note:
Aghori wrote:

I also agree with this quibble. After canon Field of Daisies, I wouldn't expect to see kidnapped children as a plot hook for a long time.

I am not so sure that having mothers and children as the victims is a problem. Often the weak suffer at the hands of the powerful and the evil. This is true historically and it motivates PCs to redress that imbalance; to be the good guys as it were.

Drat! my plot device of a kidnapped company of the High Guard of Azadmere appears not to be realistic then...back to the drawing board.

I suppose you will tell me Cathedral Rustling is improbable now too :(

Hey, if your PCs want to go after Cathedral Rustlers, more power to them...

Personally, I am voting for "Pin the tail on the Vlasta".

:D
